Leo DesBois Founding Partner, Director, Tutor
Leo holds a B.A. in Philosophy from Middlebury College (2016), Middlebury, VT, where he also minored in Music and sang in both the college choir and the Mountain Ayres madrigal group. He has seven years of experience tutoring students of all ages on the North Shore, MA, in Mathematics, English, Geography, Spanish, Science, Study Skills, and Standardized Test Preparation. During the 2018-19 school year, Leo completed a teaching apprenticeship in 8th Grade Humanities at Glen Urquhart School (GUS), Beverly Farms, MA, helping implement a curriculum combining English literature, poetry, creative writing, public speaking, American history, world geography, and mapmaking. He has also worked at GUS for three years (2018-21) as a middle school athletic coach (soccer, basketball, track & field) and substitute teacher for grades K-8. During fall 2020-spring 2021, Leo taught the seventh and eighth grade Math Lab at GUS. A graduate of Glen Urquhart and Belmont Hill School, Belmont, MA, Leo continues to ponder the thematic questions posed to him by his middle school and high school teachers: Who am I? Where do I come from? Where am I going? If not now, when?

Jack DesBois Founding Partner, Tutor
A graduate of Glen Urquhart School (2006), Beverly Farms, MA, and Belmont Hill School (2010), Belmont, MA, Jack learned to value quality education from an early age. He studied theatre and music at Yale University, New Haven, CT, and Middlebury College, Middlebury, VT, earning his BA Music summa cum laude from Middlebury in 2016. From then until spring 2020 (with a year's hiatus studying Shakespeare & Performance at Mary Baldwin University in Virginia), he worked as a professional actor and singer in Vermont. Jack's path as a performer led him back to education. He has spent six years teaching theatre enrichment camps for young performers ages 8-21. He worked for two years as a teaching artist bringing Shakespeare residency programs to 3-6th grade language arts classrooms. He also has experience tutoring students in grades 5-8 in a variety of subjects and substitute teaching at the middle and high school levels. Jack currently works as a freelance writer and copy editor.

Margot DesBois Founding Partner, Tutor
Following an early childhood immersed in reading and independent imaginative play, Margot developed an appreciation for structured education while at Glen Urquhart School, Beverly Farms, MA, in grades five through eight. She then spent two years at Masconomet Regional High School, Boxford, MA, before transferring to Concord Academy (2015), Concord, MA, thus experiencing contrasting secondary school environments. Margot graduated summa cum laude from Middlebury College, Middlebury, VT, in 2019 with a B.A. in Biology and completion of the required pre-medical coursework in the sciences and humanities. At college, she sang in the college choir, performing in concerts, operas, oratorios, and recitals.
Margot has experience tutoring students in organizational skills and various middle school subjects, as well as substitute teaching middle and high school classes. She worked as the assistant director of an elementary school after-school program, managing a group of kindergarten and first grade children. In winter and spring 2021, she served as an Upper School teaching assistant at Shore Country Day School, Beverly, MA, supporting lead teachers in grades six through eight in their professional responsibilities. From January 2022 through December 2023, Margot worked part-time as a Science Fellow with the nonprofit organization Children's Health Defense. Margot enjoys physical exercise, especially walking, running, cycling, high intensity interval training, and yoga. She has a passion for orthomolecular nutrition and environmental medicine. In the long term, Margot hopes to obtain a medical degree and help people understand how to live healthfully. But at present, she wishes to aid the learning process in its many forms, wherever it occurs. |
Andrew DesBois Partner, Tutor
Andrew developed and strengthened his appreciation for education and lifelong learning at Glen Urquhart School, Beverly Farms, MA, and Belmont Hill School, Belmont, MA. He graduated summa cum laude from Belmont Hill in 2007. His peer tutoring experience in high school sparked an interest in teaching. While studying at Middlebury College, Middlebury, VT, he worked as a teaching assistant in General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, and Newtonian Physics. At Middlebury, he enjoyed investigating the inner workings of the human body at the molecular level, and he completed pre-medical coursework. He graduated magna cum laude from Middlebury with a BA in Biochemistry in 2013. After college, Andrew spent eight years working at Suffield Academy, Suffield, CT, undertaking the many roles of a boarding school faculty member. He developed curricula and taught classes in Chemistry and Chemistry Honors. He advised an assigned group of students in all areas of school life. He also worked as a club advisor, soccer and track coach, and dormitory parent. Currently (as of fall 2023), Andrew is teaching high school Chemistry and Environmental Science at Bradford Christian Academy in Lawrence, MA. On a personal level, Andrew enjoys running, cycling, cooking, and learning about the molecular foundations of health through orthomolecular and environmental medicine.
